Tripura Makes National Anthem & Song Compulsory in Schools

On 7 July 2026, Tripura government made the full version of National Song Vande Mataram and National Anthem Jana Gana Mana compulsory in all schools, including government aided, private schools, and recognised madrassas.
Daily assemblies will begin with Vande Mataram, followed by Jana Gana Mana; everyone must stand at attention.
The directive aligns with Ministry of Home Affairs guidelines (28 Jan 2026) and was approved by the state Cabinet on 25 June 2026.
