Green Highways Excellence Awards 2026

- NHAI instituted the Green Highways Excellence Awards to promote healthy plantation practices along National Highways; winners for 2026 were announced in three categories.
- Avenue Plantations: 1st – Six Laning of Chilakaluripet Bypass (NH-16, Andhra Pradesh); 2nd – Vadodara-Kim Expressway (Gujarat); 3rd – Gagariya-Bakhasar & Satta-Gandhav sections (Rajasthan).
- Median Plantations: 1st – Hyderabad-Yadgiri section (NH-163); 2nd – Vadodara-Kim Expressway (Gujarat); 3rd – Varanasi Ring Road (UP).
- Land Parcels: 1st – Jamtha Clover Leaf, Oxygen Bird Park (NH-44, Nagpur); 2nd – Duhai Interchange (Delhi); 3rd – Lucknow-Ayodhya Miyawaki plantation (UP).
- 86 nominations received; survival rate was the top evaluation criterion. Awards began in 2025 under the Green Highways Policy, 2015.
