Gujarati music composer Gaurang Vyas passes away

Veteran Gujarati music composer, arranger and singer Gaurang Vyas died at the age of 87 in Ahmedabad in September 2026.
Son of Padma Shri awardee Avinash Vyas, he assisted his father on Jesal Toral before making an independent debut with Lakho Phulani.
He composed music for more than 100 films, including Bhavni Bhavai, Maniyaro, Liludi Dharati and Maiyarman Mandu Nathi Lagtu.
Worked with legendary playback singers Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, Kishore Kumar, Manna Dey, Mahendra Kapoor and Bhupinder Singh.
His work remains an important part of Gujarati cinema’s musical heritage.
