World Skyscraper Day – 3 September

- World Skyscraper Day is observed every year on 3 September to honour the engineering, architecture and ambition behind the world’s tallest buildings.
- The date coincides with the birth anniversary of Louis H. Sullivan, a pioneer of early skyscraper design.
- According to CTBUH, buildings 300 m or taller are classified as supertall and require specialised foundations, wind engineering, elevators and fire safety systems.
- Modern supertalls are mostly mixed-use (residences, hotels, offices, observation decks).
