  • PM Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of India’s first commercial coal-to-ammonium nitrate project at Lakhanpur, Jharsuguda, Odisha on June 20, 2026.
  • The ₹25,016 crore project by BCGCL (BHEL & Coal India JV) will produce 2,000 tonnes of ammonium nitrate daily.
  • It promotes coal gasification, reduces import dependence, and supports energy security and industrial growth.
