India, France Deepen Space Ties; ISRO Chief to Keynote Paris Summit on Human Spaceflight

Dr Jitendra Singh held a virtual bilateral meeting with French Minister Philippe Baptiste on 4 September 2026.
Both sides agreed to deepen cooperation in human spaceflight, advanced space technologies, and industry engagement.
Discussions focused on the International Space Summit (Paris, 9–10 September 2026) and Bengaluru Space Expo (7–9 September 2026).
ISRO Chairman has been invited to deliver the opening keynote on India’s future human spaceflight in Low Earth Orbit.
France welcomed a proposed video message from PM Modi and continued consultations on Summit deliverables.
Prof Baptiste will visit India (28–30 September 2026) and tour ISRO facilities in Bengaluru.
The partnership, spanning nearly six decades, includes past joint missions (Megha-Tropiques, SARAL) and ongoing Earth-observation work.
