- Shekhawati havelis of Rajasthan added to UNESCO Tentative List.
- Historic mansions in 14 towns: Alsisar, Bissau, Chirawa, Churu, Dundlod, Fatehpur, Jhunjhunu, Khetri, Laxmangarh, Mandawa, Mahansar, Nawalgarh, Ramgarh, Sikar.
- Famous for colourful façades, ornate frescoes, courtyards and grand architecture.
- Frescoes depict religion, mythology, wildlife, lifestyle and 19th–20th century social changes.
- Built by wealthy merchants; tentative listing boosts protection and heritage tourism.
- Not yet World Heritage Sites; further evaluation needed.
