  • Author Salman Rushdie has been awarded a prestigious German Peace Prize for his literary work and for his resolve in the face of a “constant threat to his life”.
  • He would receive the award in Frankfurt on October 22, 2023.
  • The Peace Prize of the German Book Trade, endowed with €25,000 ($27,300), will be handed out in a ceremony in October during the Frankfurt Book Fair.
