A London-bound Boeing 787 operated by Air India crashed into the premises of a medical college shortly after taking off from Ahmedabad. The pilot issued a distress 'Mayday' call before communication ceased abruptly. Though official casualty figures are still awaited, multiple fatalities are expected on the ground. Miraculously, one British national survived, while the rest of the passengers could not be saved.
