SpaceX Secures $843 Million NASA Contract to Deorbit ISS

- NASA awarded SpaceX the contract to develop a US Deorbit Vehicle to safely bring the ISS out of orbit by 2030, directing its reentry to Point Nemo in the Pacific Ocean.
- The ISS, operational since 2000 and weighing approximately 430,000 kilograms, will undergo a controlled deorbiting process to ensure a safe transition at the end of its operational life.
