Kishau Dam Project Clears Major Hurdle with Six-State MoU

- Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand signed an MoU with the Centre on 15 September 2026.
- The ₹15,624 crore multipurpose project on the Tons River was delayed for nearly eight years due to inter-state and financial issues.
- The centre will bear 90% of the cost of the water component.
- The project will generate 660 MW power and supply irrigation, drinking and industrial water while augmenting Yamuna flow.
- A 6-metre-high concrete gravity dam with 1,562 MCM live storage capacity to be built by Kishau Corporation Limited.
