Sanjukta Parashar Becomes First Woman to Head CRPF’s CoBRA

- IPS officer Sanjukta Parashar (2006 batch, Assam-Meghalaya cadre) is the first woman to head CRPF’s elite CoBRA unit.
- Known as the ‘Iron Lady of Assam’ for leading anti-NDFB operations in Sonitpur (2013-14) that neutralised 16 militants and arrested 64.
- She earlier served in Assam Police CID and NIA, handling major counter-terrorism cases.
- CoBRA specialises in jungle warfare against left-wing extremism and operates in Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Manipur.
