  • On June 5, 2024, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, in collaboration with UNESCO South Asia Regional Office, hosted a Workshop on Safe, Trusted, and Ethical Artificial Intelligence in New Delhi.
  • Additional Secretary Abhishek Singh emphasized the importance of building safe and innovative AI, while Principal Scientific Advisor Professor Ajay Kumar Sood highlighted India's balanced approach to AI, including the India AI mission to foster AI development and adoption.
  • The workshop aimed to establish a foundation for informed policy development to promote equitable and sustainable AI adoption across India, with UNESCO commended for its role in promoting AI ethics globally.
