India’s First Approved Dengue Vaccine: QDENGA
  • Takeda’s QDENGA (TAK-003), a live attenuated tetravalent vaccine, received CDSCO marketing authorisation in July 2026 for ages 4–60.
  • It protects against all four dengue serotypes (DENV-1 to 4) and requires two doses three months apart; no pre-vaccination dengue test needed.
  • WHO prequalified it in 2024; availability in India’s private sector expected by mid-2027 via Dr Reddy’s Laboratories.
  • India’s indigenous DengiAll remains in large-scale trials and is not yet approved.
  • Price and public-programme inclusion not yet disclosed; doctors will decide individual eligibility.
