PM Modi Conferred Slovakia’s Highest Honour
  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi was awarded Slovakia’s highest national honour, the Order of the White Double Cross (1st Class), on June 15, 2026, by President Peter Pellegrini during his historic first official visit to Bratislava. This marks the 33rd international honour for PM Modi and the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Slovakia since its independence.
  • The award recognizes his contributions to strengthening bilateral ties. During the visit, India and Slovakia elevated relations to a Comprehensive Partnership and signed 11 MoUs in key areas including labour migration, defence, digital technologies, higher education, research, and innovation. PM Modi dedicated the honour to the people of India, highlighting shared friendship and cooperation.
