Indian Navy launches Machilipatnam, seventh of eight Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Crafts built by Cochin Shipyard.
Over 80% indigenous content; supports Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
Roles: underwater surveillance, ASW, Low Intensity Maritime Operations and mine warfare.
Named after the historic Andhra Pradesh port city.
Strengthens coastal defence, maritime domain awareness and readiness in the Indian Ocean Region.
Enhances capability against underwater threats in shallow waters.
