England cricketer Alex Hales announces international retirement at 34

- England cricketer Alex Hales announced his retirement from international cricket on 4 August 2023 .
- Hales made his England debut back in 2011 and went on to play for 12 years. In 11 Tests, 70 ODIs and 75 T20Is, the right-hander scored 573, 2419 and 2074 runs respectively, with seven hundreds and 31 half-centuries.
- Last year, Hales played a key role in England winning the T20 World Cup 2023 on English soil.
- But prior to that, he faced troubles in his career as he was out of the national team for three years.
