US Open tennis tournament begins in New York

- US Open tennis, the fourth and final Grand Slam of the year, started in New York on 29 August 2022.
- On day one Daniil Medvedev played with Stefan Kozlov in the first round.
- Serena Williams is expected to play in her final tournament at the US Open.
- She has been the Grand Slam winner for 23 times.
- She won the first of her 23 major singles titles at the event in 1999.
