- President of India presents National Geoscience Awards to 21 geoscientists in 12 categories.
- The National Geoscience Awards, instituted by the Ministry of Mines in 1966, is one of the oldest and most prestigious national awards in the field of geosciences.
- The objective of these awards is to recognize scientists for outstanding achievements and significant contributions in various fields of geosciences-mineral research and exploration, mining technology and mineral benefits, and fundamental geosciences.
