Abelardo de la Espriella was sworn in as Colombia’s 36th President on 7 August 2026 for the 2026–2030 term, succeeding Gustavo Petro.
Mohsen Rezaee was appointed Secretary and Head of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council.
ED Director Rahul Navin received a one-year extension until 13 August 2027.
Dr Srinivasa Kumar Tummala took charge as Secretary of the Ministry of Earth Sciences, succeeding Dr M. Ravichandran.
Russia appointed former Chief Justice of India D.Y. Chandrachud as its arbitrator in the Oschadbank investment treaty case.
