National Space Day 2026

- Celebrated on 23 August 2026 to mark Chandrayaan-3’s soft landing near the Moon’s south pole on 23 August 2023.
- Theme: “Towards Viksit Bharat – Innovating, Collaborating and Aspiring Global Space Leadership.”
- India became the fourth nation to soft-land on the Moon and the first to land at the south pole; a site named Shiv Shakti Point.
- The day promotes STEM interest, private-sector growth via IN-SPACe and celebrates ISRO achievements such as Mangalyaan and Aditya-L1.
- Highlights future goals including Gaganyaan and Chandrayaan-4.
