DRDO High-Altitude Trial of Military Combat Parachute System
  • DRDO conducted a high-altitude trial of indigenous Military Combat Parachute System (MCPS) on 26 August 2026 at Nyoma-Mudh Drop Zone, Ladakh.
  • Jump from 22,000 ft above MSL in –15°C conditions; deployed at 20,000 ft, landing at 13,700 ft.
  • Jumpers: Wing Commander Rahul Jha, MWO R J Singh, MWO Vivek Tiwari.
  • Developed by ADRDE (Agra) with DEBEL (Bengaluru); the only Indian system operational up to 32,000 ft.
  • Features specialised para computer, oxygen system, thermal jumpsuits, advanced steering, low descent rate and NavIC integration.
