Filmmaker Avtar “Kuku” Kohli Passes Away

- Veteran Bollywood filmmaker Avtar “Kuku” Kohli died in Mumbai on 25 August 2026 at age 77 after a massive heart attack.
- Passed away at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, Andheri.
- Began career as assistant director under Raj Kapoor; directorial debut with Phool Aur Kaante (1991), which launched Ajay Devgn.
- Other films: Suhaag (1994), Haqeeqat (1995), Anari No. 1 (1999), Woh Tera Naam Tha (2004).
- Married to actress Aruna Irani since 1990; survived by wife and two daughters from first marriage.
