First "Sunrise Festival" to be held in Dong Village, Arunachal Pradesh

The first "Sunrise Festival" will be held in Dong Village, Anjaw district, Arunachal Pradesh, from December 29, 2025, to January 2, 2026. This village is the easternmost point of India, where the sun’s rays are first visible every day. The festival aims to promote tourism, adventure sports, cultural heritage, and local entrepreneurship. During this five-day festival, activities such as traditional cuisine, tribal cultural performances, handicrafts, adventure trekking, and eco-tourism will be organized. Participants will also get the opportunity to climb the hills of Dong and witness India’s first sunrise.
