Karnataka’s Proposed AI University

On 14 July 2026, Karnataka announced India’s first government-driven Artificial Intelligence University in Bengaluru.
Announced during Google I/O Connect India 2026, to be linked with an AI Hub for startups and researchers.
Will offer programmes in AI, Machine Learning, Robotics, Data Science.
Part of Karnataka’s AI-native State vision covering governance, healthcare, education and agriculture.
The state also plans two green data centres (Hoskote & near Mangaluru). Bengaluru hosts over 17,000 startups.
