Taiwan recognises same-sex marriages between Chinese, Taiwanese

Taiwan has officially recognized same-sex marriage between Taiwanese and Chinese partners, marking a significant advancement in (LGBTQ) LGBTQ rights, following the historic legalization of same-sex marriage in 2019.
Taiwan has long been at the forefront of Asia's emerging LGBTQ rights movement, and in 2019 became the first in the region to legalise marriage equality.
