Vaishali Rameshbabu Wins FIDE Grand Swiss 2025 for the Second Consecutive Time

Indian chess Grandmaster Vaishali Rameshbabu made history by winning the FIDE Women’s Grand Swiss 2025 in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, for the second consecutive time. With this victory, she also secured her place in the FIDE Women’s Candidates Tournament 2026. In the final round, she drew against China’s former world champion Tan Zhongyi and emerged as the winner based on total points. Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Vaishali on this remarkable achievement and praised her dedication.
