India Launches National Mission on Cultural Mapping to Document Villages Under Mera Gaon Meri Dharohar Programme

- The National Mission on Cultural Mapping (NMCM) aims to catalog the cultural heritage of 6.5 lakh villages in India, focusing on creating a comprehensive database of artists, art forms, and resources.
- The initiative seeks to raise awareness of cultural heritage, map cultural profiles of villages, and establish a national register of artists.
- NMCM will develop an IT-enabled platform, including a web portal and mobile app, to facilitate cultural engagement and access to information.
