Vice President to release Mission Rangeen Machhli 2031
  • The Vice President of India will release “Mission Rangeen Machhli 2031” Strategic Action Plan for Ornamental Fisheries at Agatti, Lakshadweep on 31 August 2026.
  • Event attended by Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh, MoS Prof S.P. Singh Baghel and Lakshadweep Administrator Praful Patel.
  • Plan provides framework for scientific management, biosecurity, quality assurance and SOPs across ornamental fisheries value chain.
  • Lakshadweep (17% of India’s EEZ) , known as Seaweed Cluster, focuses on mariculture, high-value fisheries and blue economy.
  • Benefits to be distributed to fishers, including women.
