India Conducts First Satellite-Based Landing on Jet Aircraft

- On 27 June 2026, India successfully conducted its first GAGAN-based satellite landing approach on a jet (IndiGo Airbus A320) at Udaipur airport.
- GAGAN (GPS Aided GEO Augmented Navigation) provides precise navigation and LPV approaches.
- Jointly developed by ISRO and AAI; improves safety at airports without traditional ILS.
- Mandatory on Indian-registered aircraft since July 2021; India leads Asia-Pacific in SBAS.
