Punjab Launches New Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme

Punjab notified Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) Scheme on 26 June 2026, effective from 1 July.
Provides 125 days of employment annually (up from 100 days under MGNREGA).
Funded on 60:40 Centre-State ratio under the 2025 central Act.
Aims at employment generation and rural development aligned with Viksit Bharat@2047 vision.
