China replaces Foreign Minister Qin Gang with Wang Yi
  • Wang Yi has been re-appointed as China's foreign minister, replacing Qin Geng, who had been missing for the past month. Wang Yi previously served as foreign minister for 10 years before being replaced in December 2022.
  • Founded by Mao Zedong on 1 November 1949, the People's Republic of China is the largest country in Asia by area and the third largest in the world. It is also the second most populous country after India.
  • China is the world's second largest economy, following the United States, and holds the position of the largest exporter and trading nation globally.
