India’s First Green Forge Complex Inaugurated
  • India inaugurated its first Green Forge Complex at BRIC-NABI in Mohali, Punjab, on 31 August 2026. The controlled-environment facility tests genetically modified crops under simulated light, humidity and temperature conditions before field trials.
  • Linked to genome and trait engineering and the BioE3 policy for biotechnology-led biomanufacturing, it supports India’s expanding bioeconomy and the proposed Chandigarh-Mohali Science and Innovation Cluster.
