Gita Gopinath to Exit IMF as First Deputy MD in August, Set to Return to Harvard as Inaugural Gregory and Ania Coffey Economics Professor:

Gita Gopinath, who joined the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in 2019 and became its First Deputy Managing Director in 2022, will step down in August 2025. She will rejoin Harvard University as the first-ever Gregory and Ania Coffey Professor of Economics.
